Wakacje w domu to nuda? Sprawdź 8 sposobów na kreatywne spędzanie czasu

Are holidays at home boring? Check out 8 ways to spend your time creatively

All is not lost, after all. Thanks to technology and a bit of ingenuity, there are loads of brilliant things you can do at home. Here’s our list of activities we never seemed to have time for – until… now.

gaming

1. Gaming. I’m going to play a game

Let’s start with what’s closest to our hearts here at Huzaro. Often, due to studies, work and other commitments, our gaming set-up gathers dust. Now that we’re spending more time at home, it’s the perfect opportunity to dust off our gaming desks and fire up the latest titles. In the last few months alone, a whole host of great games have been released, and yet we’ve all still got a backlog of titles to get through. Warzone, The Last of Us II, Bannerlord, Resident Evil – need we go on? So settle down comfortably in your armchairs and fire up your gear.

2. Books to read. Read what you like

If you love reading, you’ve no doubt already realised that you can use all this spare time to read. But what if reading hasn’t been your thing so far? Well, it’s worth giving it a go! Look for a topic that interests you, because reading isn’t just about school set reading. Perhaps books about your favourite sport? Crime novels? Fantasy? If you’re a fan of games or TV series, check which ones are based on books. You’ll be surprised just how many of your favourite titles actually originated on the page. Through reading, you can rediscover stories.

3. Learn about what really interests you

Nobody likes learning when they’re forced to. I’m sure lots of people feel that way about school. The summer holidays, however, are a great opportunity to learn something that really interests us! Think about what you’d like to be good at. A programming course? Foreign languages? Computer graphics? Drawing? The internet is an endless source of knowledge, and you can complete countless courses without even getting up from your chair. A gaming one, of course. Not sure where to look? As well as the ever-reliable YouTube, it’s also worth checking out the paid platforms udemy.com or the Polish site eduweb.pl

trening w domu

4. Training at home

First, gaining weight. Most of us have probably got that stage behind us. It’s more of a challenge when it comes to the actual exercise. However, all it takes is a bit of determination and consistency to improve your health and appearance. Even without leaving the house. The magic method you’re looking for is known as calisthenics – exercises that don’t require any equipment and which you can easily do in your own room. A gamer with a six-pack? Of course! Just look at Polish esports players – many of them regularly keep fit and work on their… biceps.

5. A career in esports

Since we’re on the subject of esports, why not kick-start your own career? The coronavirus has put a stop to training for many athletes, but one discipline has come through this unscathed. Of course, it’s esports. If you’ve been wondering how to become a professional esports player, the answer is simple – training. You can use this time at home to develop your career in any game. You’ll certainly need to devote a lot of time to it, but when else if not now? Set up a comfortable set-up, set yourself a goal and practise, practise, practise

6. Cooking for the family

Lots of people are still afraid of going out to restaurants. Does that mean the end of good food? Not a chance! With a bit of effort and a gaming desk, you can make a brilliant pizza! One of our favourite ways to beat boredom is cooking. You’ll find hundreds of blogs online that give step-by-step guides on how to make dishes from all over the world. You’re sure to find some of your favourite dishes amongst them. Put on your apron and get cooking! Your family will be grateful.

7. Niche TV series and films

Been through the whole of Netflix? I don’t think so. But not everyone has to watch the same things. It’s worth settling down comfortably in your gaming chair and delving a little deeper. Netflix and other streaming services offer a wealth of less popular but highly worthwhile content. Anime, documentaries, films and TV series from years gone by, or perhaps titles from countries other than the US? You’ll find masterpieces from all over the world on these platforms, and *La casa de papel* is just the tip of the iceberg.

komiksy o superbohaterach

8. Superhero comics

We all love superheroes. They’ve been all the rage for years, and the latest films from Marvel and DC keep breaking box-office records. All sorts of superhero merchandise sells in the millions worldwide, and kids on every continent dream of being just like Tony Stark. Yet hardly anyone goes back to the source: the comic books. After all, Iron Man and Wonder Woman originate from those iconic illustrated stories. What was the first picture of my favourite superhero? Where did it all begin? These are questions worth knowing the answers to! Comics are also a brilliant way to build your own collection. A bookcase full of colourful stories always looks great next to a gaming setup.
