GTA VI – the biggest launch of the decade?
There’s probably no other game that’s been talked about more. Grand Theft Auto VI is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited release of recent years. Rockstar Games returns to the famous Vice City, whilst also introducing a completely new version of the state of Leonida – full of diverse locations, dynamic events and residents who lead lives of their own.
The developers are promising the largest and most detailed open world in the series’ history. Players will once again be treated to two main characters, an extensive storyline and a vast array of side activities, which have always been one of the cornerstones of the GTA series.
The game is set to be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version will most likely follow later, as has been the case with previous instalments in the series.
If Rockstar’s announcements prove true, GTA VI stands a chance not only of breaking sales records, but also of setting new standards for open-world games.
Control: Resonant – Remedy expands its iconic universe
The new game from Remedy Entertainment was bound to feature amongst the most eagerly awaited games of 2026.
Control: Resonant continues the story of one of the most original science fiction worlds of recent years. The developers are focusing on even more dynamic combat, new paranormal powers and the further development of storylines familiar from the first instalment.
This time, Dylan Faden will play a key role, and the developers are promising a more aggressive style of gameplay. Players will have access to a new weapon – the Aberrant – which can change its form during combat, adapting to different opponents.
Of course, there’ll be no shortage of Remedy’s signature supernatural powers, spectacular environmental destruction and a story full of mysteries and ambiguities. The release is scheduled for 24 September 2026, and the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Mac computers.
For many fans, this will be one of the most exciting game releases of autumn 2026.
Fable – release date postponed, but interest remains high
Although Fable features in almost every list of the most eagerly awaited games, it is worth bearing in mind that its release has been postponed until February 2027.
That doesn’t change the fact that the reboot of the cult RPG series remains one of the most important projects currently in development at Xbox Game Studios.
The developers have announced a return to Albion, an open world brimming with humour, a fairy-tale atmosphere and choices that shape the course of the story. If all these announcements are reflected in the final version of the game, Fable could well become one of next year’s biggest hits.
Marvel's Wolverine
Following the success of the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, Insomniac Games is turning its attention to one of the most recognisable heroes in the Marvel universe. This time, players will take on the role of Wolverine – a character known for his brutal fighting style, adamantium claws and extraordinary regenerative abilities.
The developers are promising a much more mature and darker story than in Spider-Man’s adventures. Players can expect dynamic close-quarters combat, spectacular duels and a narrative centred on a lone hero grappling with his own past. If Insomniac maintains the standard set by its previous titles, Marvel’s Wolverine could prove to be one of the best action games of 2026.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
A Polish touch was a must on the list of the most eagerly awaited releases. *The Blood of Dawnwalker* is the first game from Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by former developers of *The Witcher 3* and *Cyberpunk 2077*.
The game will transport players to a dark fantasy world inspired by medieval Europe, where vampires, moral choices and the struggle for survival will play a key role. The main character, Coen, will have to face not only powerful enemies, but also his own gradual transformation.
The developers promise a rich storyline, non-linear quests and decisions that genuinely influence the course of the story. Thanks to the experience of the Rebel Wolves team, many players see this game as one of the leading contenders for the title of best RPG of the coming years. The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to launch on 3 September 2026.
Gears of War: E-Day
Fans of the Gears of War series have been waiting for years to revisit the events that sparked one of the most devastating conflicts in gaming history. Gears of War: E-Day will transport players back to the fateful Emergence Day – the day on which hordes of Locusts launched a surprise attack on humanity.
The prequel will offer a fresh perspective on this well-known universe and reveal the origins of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago’s stories. The developers are promising a more emotional story, spectacular battles and the full potential of the modern Unreal Engine 5. It’s a must-have for fans of intense action and co-op gameplay. The game is scheduled for release on 15 September 2026.
Silent Hill: Townfall
The Silent Hill franchise is making a grand comeback, and Townfall is set to be one of the most intriguing instalments in the entire series. The project is being developed by No Code, a studio known for narrative-driven games that focus on building atmosphere and tension.
The developers are promising a psychological horror game in which a mysterious plot, a sense of isolation and an unsettling atmosphere will take centre stage. Rather than cheap jump scares, players can expect a story that gradually unveils the secrets of the town of Silent Hill. This title is aimed primarily at those who value narrative and atmospheric experiences. The game is set to be released on 24 September 2026.
Phantom Blade Zero
One of the most impressive demonstrations of recent months was undoubtedly the gameplay footage from *Phantom Blade Zero*. Developed by S-Game, the game combines dynamic combat inspired by classic wuxia films with soulslike elements and spectacular duels reminiscent of the choreography seen in martial arts films.
The game focuses on fast-paced combat, fluid combo sequences and an extensive arsenal of melee weapons. The dark fantasy world and the exceptionally polished graphics are also worth noting. For many players, this is one of the most promising debuts of recent years. The release is scheduled for 28 October.
Indie games that might surprise us in 2026

One of the more unusual indie releases of 2026. Neverway combines elements of a life simulation, management game and a dark narrative. The player takes on the role of a heroine who is trying to start a new life, but soon discovers that the game world harbours many more secrets.
The game stands out for its distinctive artistic style and its focus on character relationships and decision-making. It is an example of a game that demonstrates that independent developers are still capable of experimenting with form and theme.
This is a game for fans of classic 2D games. Well Dweller stands out for its hand-drawn art style, its dark atmosphere and its strong focus on exploration.
